| Graphics are fully 3-Dimensional, applying the most advanced technology available. This enables real time 30 fps rendering of any scene anywhere, and complete accuracy with respect to terrain, trees, and objects. If we were cutting corners we'd drop to using 2D pictures of trees and objects or, worse yet resort to mere photos for the entire landscape. We spend 14-24 man months to meticulously produce each course, precisely replicating every detail. We obtain the best possible terrain data, accurate to within inches. We commission thousands of reference photos, including calibrated aerial photos, to ensure exacting specs. If we were cutting corners we'd speed through courses in weeks, using low-resolution publicly accessible data, and not concern ourselves with the details most players wouldn't notice Our engineers have spent years perfecting the complex mathematics and physics of the golf ball in flight and subsequent collisions, going to the root of what makes a golf ball fly: lift and drag coefficients: spin decay: the effects of wind currents on lift: and all of the details relating to accurate collision physics with respect to terrain and 3D objects. If we were cutting corners we'd only focus on making the flight look realistic, applying simplistic formulas for effects of spin and wind. We'd come up with a handful of pre-staged effects for putts hitting the cup, bounces and tree collisions. If we were cutting corners we wouldn't continually strive to evolve our user interface, or keep adding useful tools, or continue to build on our peripheral program which includes online tournaments, shot data analysis, and league management, plus integrated force plate and video swing analysis. |
